Founded in 1998 by Eric "Mr Neveux" and Stéphane Ichai, while visiting the damp clubs of Bristol, Microbe, a totally independent label, is meant to evolve only according to tastes (eclectic) and encounters (determining). Far from sticking rigidly to one particular musical style, Microbe has opted for eclecticism, artistic singularity being its only policy.
From Mr Neveux's nonconformist electro to Morning Star' s soothing folk chants, from Ben's Symphonic Orchestra's playful and Lo-fi pop to Yvan Hio's synthetic and Houellbecquian songs, including the sweet melodies of Fabio Viscogliosi, Microbe has trouble to fit into one musical style only.
This passion for promoting various styles also applies to the label' s current activities: edition company, recording and mixing studio, producer of albums, film soundracks (Ceux qui m'aiment prendront le train, Intimacy by Patrice Chéreau, Sitcom and Regarde la mer by François Ozon) as well as other sound creations conceived for shows.
Now distributed by Discograph (in France), Microbe, with loads of projects, is spreading to the whole world.
